Dr. Mehmet HAKLIDIR serves as the Director of TÜBİTAK BİLGEM Artificial Intelligence Institute (YZE). He graduated from Istanbul University with a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and a minor in Computer Science. He completed his master’s degree in Mechatronics Engineering and his Ph.D. in Control and Automation Engineering, both at Istanbul Technical University.

With over 20 years of experience, Dr. HAKLIDIR has held leadership and technical expert roles in large-scale national and international projects. He played a significant role in the establishment of TÜBİTAK BİLGEM Artificial Intelligence Institute and contributed to the development of Turkey’s National Artificial Intelligence Strategy.

Dr. Mehmet HAKLIDIR is a member of the OECD One AI Expert Group, the Global Partnership on AI (GPAI), and the Advisory Board for the Roadmap of Artificial Intelligence Technologies of the Science, Technology, and Innovation Policy Council. He also serves as the Secretary General of the International Association of Artificial Intelligence in Healthcare.

Dr. HAKLIDIR continues his research in artificial intelligence, big data, and robotics. Throughout his career, he has presented at various national and international congresses and scientific conferences, and published articles in international scientific journals indexed by SCI. He has also received national and international awards from different organizations.
